Menopause doesn't have to be Doom & Gloom

Women,

You’re not destined for a life of misery once you enter the menopause transition years.

While it is true that there are many changes that happen in women’s bodies as they move to pre-menopausal to menopausal and beyond, we don’t have to hop on the train for destination DoomAndGloomVille.

The thing is… you gotta start making adjustments for menopause before you’re in this stage of life (pre- and perimenopausal time). That is, if you want to have a less stressful and (relatively) easier time at this next “opportunity stage of life”.

These adjustments I speak of involve things like potential dietary pattern changes, shifts in exercise/movement patterns and programming, and introduction of botanicals or other supplements to mitigate vasomotor and cognitive symptoms (you know, those hot flashes, migraines, night sweats). Okay, there’s more to it, but those are some of the classic big hitters.

It doesn’t have to be this way. But you gotta put in the work.

It doesn’t have to be this way. But you gotta put in the work.

As mentioned in the last post, it’s not just one thing that is our be-all-end-all solution to nutrition and health (and life) issues. Sometimes, we gotta break apart the pieces, lay it all out on the table, examine each piece of Our Puzzle carefully with some TLC + Smarts + Boldness, and then redesign for what’s up next.

And one last thing… if you’re afraid to talk menopause with me (or someone like me), then it’s time to get over it. We need no more stigma, fear, shame, or embarrassment about our female bodies.

After all, they are beautiful in their own right.

No matter what.
